Which begs the question, can life get any better? I’m guessing at least tonight Bishop is thinking not by much after receiving a proclamation from the mayor deeming Tuesday, February 15, 2011, Desmond Bishop Day in San Francisco!

The honor comes after the San Francisco native and former Cal star recovered a fumble en route to his first Super Bowl title a few weeks back. For video from today’s event and an interview with Bishop, click here. (It takes a minute to download, but it’s worth the wait.)

Go Bears! Go Desmond! And Go Pack Go!

It’s all about the NFL Playoffs, baby! Kate and Nick are talking Ravens/Steelers, Falcons/Packers, Seahawks/Bears, and Jets/Patriots in what’s shaping up to be an epic weekend on the gridiron! The duo also touches on Monday’s BCS Championship and the latest rumors surrounding the 49ers quarterback situation and the Raiders lack of a head coach. Then it’s a quick NCAA hoops update, a check-in on the Warriors and Sharks continued demise, and did you hear? The 2010 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants are getting their own reality show! Hmm … we wonder which Giant has a fetish they’re willing to make public? That’s all ahead on today’s show! Click here to listen.

Well how ’bout the NFC West, huh? Talk about a tough division! (cue laughs) Awfulness aside, despite Thursday nights shlacking at the hands of the Chargers, the Niners are somehow, some way STILL alive, and Kate and Nick are all over it. The duo also talks baseball – the A’s offseason moves and the Giants disgruntled infielder – Sharks hockey and Warriors basketball. Then it’s spandex time: the Cal Women’s Volleyball team has a shot at an NCAA Championship for the first time in program history, while the De La Salle Spartans are lookin’ for more glory for Concord, California. Wrapping up the show: a Raiders preview and an update on the America’s Cup yatching drama. That’s right, we said yatching drama. That’s all ahead on today’s That’s What She Said!
