And represent they did, especially former Stanford wideout Ryan Whalen, who finished in the top 15 in every workout category except the 40 yard dash. Whalen’s numbers, in no particular order:

40 yard dash – 4.59 seconds
Vertical jump – 38.5″ (7th)
Broad jump – 10’3″ (tied for 14th)
3-Cone Drill – 6.67 seconds (10th)
20 yard shuttle – 4.09 seconds (6th)
60 yard shuttle – 11.21 seconds (9th)
Bench Press – 18 (tied for 11th, finishing one spot better than Alabama’s combine phenom, Julio Jones)

* (Ranking is in comparison to other WRs at the combine)

Not bad numbers for a guy that was a recruited walk-on at Stanford back in 2007.

Former Cardinal defensive back Richard Sherman wasn’t as impressive as Whalen, but he definitely held his own. Sherman’s highlights, also in no particular order:

Vertical jump – 38″ (5th)
Broad jump – 10’5″ (9th)
3-Cone Drill – 6.82 seconds (tied for 14th)

* (Ranking is in comparison to other DBs at the combine)

If you’re a combine newbie, click here for info and video describing the workouts. My apologies for the guy that starts yakking as soon as the page opens. Turn him down if you must, but he actually says some helpful things after you get over the initial shock of his voice.
