New coach in, old coaches out, that’s pretty much how it goes in sports. So it comes as no surprise today that new Raiders head coach, Hue Jackson, handed pink slips to defensive coordinator John Marshall, offensive line coach Jim Michalczik, linebackers coach Mike Haluchak, passing game coordinator Ted Tollner, quarterbacks coach Paul Hackett and assistant offensive line coach Chris Morgan, according to Fox Sports.

On a – well, it’s not that bad – note for fans of Coach Michalczik, word over at California Golden Blogs is that Jeff Tedford has already lured the big guy back to Berkeley to whip Cal’s O-line into shape. For those of you that aren’t as obsessed with Cal football as me, Coach M was in charge in ’04 and ’05 when the Bears had the best rushing offense in the Pac-10. If that stat’s not impressive enough already, consider this. Reggie Bush and Lendale White were at USC during those years. Yeah, take THAT Pete Carroll. He’s also responsible for recruiting and molding Alex Mack into the Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl center that he is today. Needless to say, if you’re a Cal fan, this is a very good thing.
